What to Expect in the Marine Corp Training

In the Marine Corp training, you are converted from a civilian into a soldier.
The recruits are trained to endure odds and hardships but individuals should know how to work within a team.
The shared intense experience is what creates comradeship and standards of conduct so that Marines won't let anything stand in their way.
The Marines are not only trained to be tough physically but mentally as well.
The Core Values- Honor, Courage and Commitment are what mold recruits to be who they're supposed to be.
What can you expect during the Marine Corp training? You will have the longest and toughest 13 weeks of your life.
In your recruit receiving phase, you will receive your very first Marine hair cut.
Your initial gear will be issued and that includes your uniform, toiletries and letter writing materials.
During this phase, you will have your full medical and dental screening and you would have to take the IST or Initial Strength test.
This test would include a one and a half mile run, sit-ups and pull-ups.
This is done to check if you are in shape to start the training.
Next will be forming.
What happens during forming? You will meet your drill instructors for the first time and during this 3-5 days phase, you will learn the basics- how to march, how to wear the uniform properly, how to secure your weapons and so on.
You should be able to adjust to the training way of life before the first actual training day.
What else is included in the Marine Corp training? You would have to undergo the drill, physical training, academic training, core values, Marine Corps martial arts program, confidence course, combat water survival, basic warrior training, field training, marksmanship training, FFR, field meet, crucible, transition phase and lastly, family day and graduation.
