How to Install Nitrous Oxide
- 1). Disconnect the vehicle's battery and mount the gas bottle. The bottle should be mounted as far from the engine and transmission as possible, or else it could become hot and explode.
- 2). Mount the bottle in a semi-upright position along the exterior of the vehicle. The blow-down tube should face away from the vehicle's interior to prevent gas leaking into the vehicle. The exact mounting procedure could vary according to the manufacturer.
- 3). Mark and drill four 5/16-inch holes on the mounting surface for the brackets. Secure the nitrous bottle in the mounting brackets and tighten the clamps with a wrench.
- 4). Secure the nitrous solenoid in a bench vise. Screw the nitrous fittings onto the inlet/outlet port on the nitrous solenoid. Wrap Teflon tape around the connection to prevent leaks. Drill holes for the nitrous solenoid, which should be located near the nitrous bottle. Screw the solenoid into the brackets.
- 5). Run the nitrous feed line to the fuel injector and screw it on. Connect the nitrous system to the battery terminal with an inline fuse.
- 6). Activate the system by a switch under the hood.
