Army ASVAB Score Requirements and Qualifcations
If you are considering a career with the United States Armed Services, particularly a career with the US Army, you will be required to undergo a series of qualification tests, background checks and paperwork.
Most importantly, you will be required to take and pass the military version of an academic entrance exam called the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery or ASVAB for short.

If you get accepted, and which jobs you qualify for, will ultimately be determined by your ASVAB AFQT and line scores.
The ASVAB is composed of 8 or 9 subtests, depending on the version you take, and will be scored differently depending on what qualification your are attempting to calculate.
In order to qualify for acceptance into the army you will require an AFQT of at least 31.
This score is calculated by looking at your results for the following test sections:
Once you qualify for entry into the army itself, you will have to further qualify for your chosen MOS or Military Occupational Specialty.
MOS qualifications are calculated based on your line scores.
Depending on your intended field of choice, your line scores will include a different composition of the various ASVAB subtests.

For example: GT or general technical is a combination of your VE (verbal expression) and AR (arithmetic reasoning) scores.
Verbal Expression itself is a combination of WK (word knowledge) and PC (paragraph comprehension).
Whereas the EL or Electronics based MOS will look at the following: GS, AR, MK, EI or General Science, Arithmetic Reasoning, Mathematics Knowledge and Electronics Information.
