Problems

• Stow removes the problems of programs stored in the same directory with similar or the same file names. GNU Operating Systems reports that when different programs are installed, file names needed for different programs can be deleted or overwritten.

• Stow is a program allowing the files from a computer program to be stored in its own directory tree. The Softpedia website states that when the files are viewed, they seem to be held in the same place, but are actually separated into a separate directory by Stow.

• According to Softpedia, the Stow program requires Perl script in order to operate effectively. An operating system using Stow requires Perl 4 or 5 to be installed before running the Stow program.
