Income

• The calculation of child support may include the income of both parents or the wages of the non-custodial parent only depending on the state of residence. Changes to household income may qualify your case for a review.
  
  

Medical Expenses

• Per federal guidelines, a portion of child support is designated to cover medical expenses. If the current order does not include medical support or your child’s medical expenses have substantially increased, request a case review.
  
  

Custody

• Custody is a determining factor in the calculation of child support. If the current custody arrangement changes to either sole or joint custody the support order may be amended.
  
  

Financial Need

• Requests for a case review must be submitted in writing to the state child support office handling the case. The reason for a modification should be included in the request.
