How to Crochet Scratch Pads
- 1). Make 30 chain stitches using your size US I crochet hook and a ball of twine or jute. Make a single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in every subsequent chain across.
- 2). Chain one and turn your work. Single crochet in every single crochet stitch across the row.
- 3). Repeat Step 2 until the scratch pad is as long as you want it to be.
- 4). Cut your jute or twine, leaving a 4-inch tail. Pull this tail through a slip stitch to secure it, then thread it onto an embroidery needle. Weave the tail in and out of the stitches on the scratch pad to secure it, then repeat with any other tail ends on the mat.
