How to Train for Throwing Horse Shoes
- 1). Set up a practice court or find somewhere you can practice.
- 2). Get a feel for the weight of the horseshoe by rocking it in your hand while swinging your arm in low semi-circles.
- 3). Stand beside one horseshoe post. Swing your arm in the same semi-circle pattern that you used for getting a feel for the weight and release it when you think the angle is right for landing it near the opposite horseshoe post.
- 4). Practice throwing the shoes between the posts several times until you land each time in the general area of the opposite post.
- 5). Start throwing the shoes onto the post by standing only a few feet from the opposite post. Each time you wrap one around the post, move backwards to make the shot more and more difficult.
