Natural Treatment for Hair Loss in Women

16

    Scalp Stimulation

    • Scalp stimulation can help increase circulation to the follicles of the scalp. When circulation is restored to the follicles, it will allow the follicle to produce stronger and new hair cells. Over time, regular scalp stimulation can significantly increase hair fullness and quantity of hair on the head. To stimulate the scalp, use a prong-bristled hairbrush, and massage the scalp with the brush using circular motions. Focus on the areas that the hair is thinnest. Massage the scalp in this manner for about 15 minutes and repeat once per day.

    Over-Washing

    • Over-washing the hair will strip away the hair's natural oils, which can lead to dryness and brittleness of the hair shaft. This brittleness can cause the hair to break off, which will thin out the hair. To avoid this, decrease your hair washing to once every three days. This will maintain a healthful oil balance on the scalp. To redistribute the oils to the rest of the hair, use a boar-bristle hairbrush and brush the hair from root to tip. Brush the hair using long strokes for about 10 minutes.

    Nutrient Intake

    • When the body is lacking in nutrients, it will cause the hair, nails, and skin to become weak and thin. In order to improve hair thickness and fullness, make sure that you are taking a daily multivitamin that includes all of the B vitamins, which improve hair quality.

    Scalp Suffocation

    • Scalp suffocation occurs when the follicles do not receive enough oxygen, and can cause the follicles not to produce hair cells. This can result from wearing hats too much or pulling the hair back into a ponytail too frequently. Keep the hair down as much as possible to make sure that the hair follicles are receiving enough oxygen.

    Reducing Stress

    • Stressful situations can affect all systems in the body, and can lead to a host of health problems. One way this can manifest in the body is by the loss of hair. Try to reduce stress in your life as much as possible in order to maintain a thick head of hair.
