Remove any collars and clothing that your Yorkie may be wearing. Using a doggie comb or brush, gently brush the fur to remove any knots or tangles. If your pup’s hair is very knotted, you may have to use a scissors to cut off the knotted fur. - 2

You can do this next part in your sink or bathtub, depending on your preferences and the size of your pooch. Fill your tub or sink ¼ to ½ the way with lukewarm water. Be sure to test the temperature of the water before placing your Yorkie in the sink or tub. - 3

Place your Yorkie in the water and use a cup to gently pour some of the water over their fur. Once the dog is wet, generously apply dog shampoo and lather. Use a cup to rinse your pup, or place him or her under gently flowing water. Let the used water out of the sink or tub and refill it with lukewarm water. - 4

Generously apply dog conditioner and massage it throughout your dog’s fur. Use a cup or gently flowing water to rinse him or her. Let the water out of the sink or tub. - 5

Gently dry your dog with a clean towel. He or she will probably help you with this by shaking some of the water off. Place your pooch on a flat elevated surface and gently brush the fur to remove any knots. Dry your pup using a blow dryer set on medium temperature.
