USA, a country who abandons!

Here in the USA many suffer the same fate as the Hmong's after the US defeat in Vietnam. They were an important US alley during the Vietnam War. They were for us. And when that last helicopter pulled away from our embassy in Saigon we left behind many, many thousands of these comrades and friends.
"Hmong forces kept the Pathet Lao and their Vietnamese backers in check, rescued downed American pilots, and helped the US, from their base in the "Secret City" of Long Tieng to coordinate bombing missions over Vietnam. By 1975, with defeat in Vietnam, America had largely withdrawn and the Pathet Lao took control of the government.
Hmong people, especially those who had participated in the military conflict were singled out for retribution. Thus began a mass exodus of over 350,000 Hmong refugees, mostly to the United States or to camps in Thailand.[5]
Of those Hmong people who remained in Laos, between over 30,000 were sent to re-education camps as political prisoners where they served indeterminate, sometimes life sentences. Enduring hard physical labor and difficult conditions, many people died.[6] Thousands more Hmong people, mainly former soldiers and their families, escaped to remote mountain regions". Yesterday, I visited a UPS print store in NW Arkansas. The day manager was busy serving customers coming thru the door. What a conscientious hard working employee. I asked him where he was from. He was Hmong. For years now I have felt real bad how our country had abandoned the Hmong's. So I said "I am so sorry for what the USA did to your people upon the American defeat in Vietnam in1975 and thereafter. What a terrible fate we gave to these allies." His reply: "Thank you. I am surprised to hear you talk of that time. I did not think people remembered."
As you think about this sad ditching of friends one realizes that we Americans have become a country who abandons. What we did to the Hmong's is just par for the course. In too many cases: We ditch our old people. We push our poor and sick aside. We saddle our college young people to a crushing debt. There are millions of homeowners losing their homes mostly thru no fault of their own. Guess who abandoned them? Yes sir the banks, government, those financial wizards, those Wall-Streeters have left so many of us in the trash bin. And most importantly of all we have abandoned that beautiful Reality that is all about us and yes within us for fake gods and religions. What an array of hopelessness!!!
It is no wonder thousands of "Occupy Wall-Streeters" are marching against these abandonments. Our friends, the Hmong's got to see the other face of America the hard way. And now sadly so many of our own people are suffering their same fate. Wake up America we are so much better than this. Stand up against. Make changes or we will suffer our own consequences.
