How to Cast a Rage Tail Frog
- 1). Hold a Rage Tail toad in your hand so that nose of the lure is accessible. Choose a 5/0 or 6/0 extra wide gap (EWG) hook by the shank with your other hand.
- 2). Insert the point of the hook into the nose of the lure. Push the point 1/2 inch into the body of the Rage Tail.
- 3). Turn the point down and out just behind the chin of the Rage Tail so it exits the bottom of the lure. Push the lure up the shank and onto the keeper bend of the hook.
- 4). Turn the hook point back toward the Rage Tail. Insert the point of the hook into the belly of the Rage Tail and through the body. Center the hook in the belly as it is inserted. Continue pushing the point out the top of the toad so the point exits in the slot on the top of the toad.
- 5). Straighten the Rage Tail on the hook so it lies straight between the keeper bend and the point. Push the point of the hook just under the surface of the toad to "skin" it or bury the point to make it weedless.
