Finding hotel rates in Bali can be tricky. Sometimes you only pay a dime for a luxurious 5 star hotel and sometimes you have to pay $500 for a budget room. This is depends on how depth you are willing to do your homework researching the room rates. Those who never plan their trip always fell in the hotel owner's trap.

Do not rely 100% on the Google search result entirely when planning your trip. I strongly suggest you to spend sometimes reading forum post. There is a lot of forum discussing hotel rates esspecially in Bali as it's one of the biggest attraction in south east asia.

I have been in Bali twice, what I can share, Bali offers really interesting hotel rates. There are many ways to know what are the hotel rates in Bali and to get the best deal.

1. Contacting local travel agent. Indonesia local travel agent purchased rooms in bulk. If you care about spending your money at it's best. Contact the travel agent. One of the best travel agent in Indonesia is KAHA, do search in Google for this.
2. Call the hotel directly. Comparing to option 1, option 2 is less affective, their travel agent has more interesting hotel rates even to compare with walk-in guess to the hotel.
3. Check What are the Hotel Rates in Bali using hotel search engine. You can always get the automatic discounted rates just from the comfort of your room. This option is very convenience as it checked all the hotel network for the best rate.

From my experience, I live in a 5 tar hotel once for $250 in Hard Rock Hotel Bali and once in Luxurious Villa beside the paddy field for only $150 per night.
