How do I Interpret the Display on the Sony STR-DG720?
- 1). Look at the "SW" indicator at the top left of the display. If that indicator is lit, it means that a subwoofer is connected and the subwoofer selection is set to "Yes."
- 2). Read the "LFE" indicator to the right of the SW light. If that light is on, then the disc playing features a low frequency channel.
- 3). Examine the indicators below the SW and LFE lights. These indicate which channels are active. "L" means front left, "R" means front right, "C" means front center, "SL" means surround left, "SR" means surround right, "S" means monaural surround, "SBL" means surround back left, "SBR" means surround back right and "SB" means surround back center.
- 4). Look at the indicators to the right of LFE. If "SP A" is lit up, then speaker set A is operating. If "SP B" is lit up, then speaker set B is operating.
- 5). Look at the indicators to the right of "SP A/B." These indicate which decoder is running. "D" indicates Dolby Digital, "D EX" indicates Dolby Digital EX, and "PL" indicates Dolby Pro Logic.
- 6). Look at the DTS indicator. This light indicates which DTS decoder, if any, is active. DTS encoders include DTS, DTS-ES, DTS 96/24 and NEO:6.
- 7). Look at the "D.Range" light. This indicator will light up if dynamic range compression has been activated.
- 8). Look at the indicators on the far right. These will light up when the receiver is tuned to a radio station. The larger number on the bottom indicates a preset radio station. Above that to the right are the lights which indicate which tuner is active and whether it is mono or stereo.
