The #1 New Year's Resolution every year for many Americans is to lose weight. However, every year many Americans fall short of their goal because they fail to follow through with their goals. What is the cause? Why do these Americans fail with their goals?

There are many diet tips out there based upon scientific evidence, but many Americans still don't meet these goals. More importantly, they don't believe that certain tips don't work for them. Have you heard that people have stated that they have tried the Atkins, Weight Watchers, P90X and so on; only to say that it didn't work for them? Well, it is not the fact that these programs don't work, or it didn't work for them; it is because they lack the motivation to move forward with the weight loss program. Reclaim Your Power

Reclaiming your power simply means making a decision to take control of your life. When you make a decision that you want change nothing will be impossible to achieve. Here are some ways to reclaim the power:

1. Create a schedule; and stick to that schedule when you're going to work out.
2. Stick to a steady eating schedule. It will help curve those cravings while keeping your metabolism up.
3. Be a believer which means that you believe that you can make the changes that you want. When you believe, it will become harder to make those excuses.

Upon reclaiming your power, it will become easier to make a habit out of these three tips. Which leads me to my next point, which is core desire.

Core Desire

Experts have stated that making goals will help us reach those goals, but in the book <u>The DNA of Succcess</u> by Jack Zufelt provides the premise that our success comes from within. When we want to change our lives, we have to want it. Have you ever wondered how some people have the interests that they do? How some are achieving their goals the way they do? And, how some actually achieve those goals? It is because they want to do it. It would be hard to achieve a goal if you don't have the desire to achieve it.

If you don't have the desire to lose weight, it is important to make a decision to change. When you make that decision, it can become a routine making it easier for you to have that desire to change.

Do What Works For You

With a lot of advice rehashed to you, it would be easy to forget what personally works. If you don't like a program, it can be hard to stick with it. That is why when you do find a program stick with it for produced results.
