DIY Homemade Solar Shower
- 1). Drill a hole in the very bottom of the side of the storage bin with the drill and the 3/4-inch hole saw. Push the male end of the hose through the hole from inside the bin. Pull the hose through until the female end is against the hole.
- 2). Pull the female end back so that it is not touching the bin and apply rubber cement around the hole. Pull the hose back through so that the female end is seated against the side of the bin, hold it in place and let the rubber cement dry. Apply more rubber cement around the female end and around the hole on the outer side of the bin. Let it dry for a day.
- 3). Screw the female end of the shower head cutoff valve onto the male end of the hose. Screw the shower head onto the male end of the shower head cutoff valve.
- 4). Place the bin on top of your vehicle, parked in the sun, and fill it with water. Wait a couple hours for the sun to heat the water.
- 1). Place the ends of the U-clamps on the ends of each of the three 6-foot pipes. Push them all the way onto the pipe so that they are on securely.
- 2). Set one of the hoops on the ground and snap all three poles onto it so that they are an equal distance from each other around its circumference. Snap the second hoop onto the U-clips on the tops of the pipes.
- 3). Hang the shower curtain on the top hoop with the curtain rings. Hang the curtain so that it goes all the way around the hoop for maximum privacy.
- 4). Place the shower curtain at the side of your vehicle so that it is under the bin of water. Place the shower head over the top hoop and let it hang until it is ready to be used.
