Blow dry your hair completely. Flat iron your hair so that it is smooth and straight when you cut it. - 1). Brush your hair all the way back. Part a section of hair in the front going from the front of one ear to the other. Brush that section of hair forward. Clip the rest of the hair back.
- 2). Use your nose, mouth or any other part of the face as a line marker to cut the first layer, depending on how long you want your hair. Cut the bangs section of the first layer at the marker line in front of the face. Stand in front of a mirror. Pull this first section of hair up and cut the sides even with the bangs portion.
- 3). Part another small section of hair behind the first section and clip the rest of the hair back. Pull that section of hair up along with the first section of hair. Cut the new section even with the first.
- 4). Repeat this process for the remainder of your hair. As the hair falls down, each section will be a new layer.
