How to Remove SpyMaxx Adware
- 1). Access your computer's "Task Manager" window by pressing the "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" keys at the same time. Wait for a new menu to appear and click on the link labeled as "Open Task Manager." Click on the tab at the top of the new window that says "Processes."
- 2). Click on the "Image Name" button so that the list of currently open programs arranges itself alphabetically for easier viewing. Scroll down through the list of programs that are running and find the one named "SpyMaxx Antispyware.exe." Click on the name and then click on the "End Process" button.
- 3). Close the task manager window and then click on the "Start" button on the task bar at the bottom of the screen. Click on the "Search" box and type in the phrase "UserProfileDesktopSpyMaxx Antispyware.lnk." Click the "Enter" key. Wait for the search to finish running and then right-click the file when it appears. Choose "Delete" from the pop-up menu.
- 4). Repeat the search and delete process for the rest of the SpyMaxx files, which are named "UserProfileStart MenuProgramsSpyMaxx AntispywareSpyMaxx Antispyware.lnk," "UserProfileStart MenuProgramsSpyMaxx AntispywareUninstall.lnk," "ProgramFilesSpyMaxx AntispywareSpyMaxx Antispyware.dll," "ProgramFilesSpyMaxx AntispywareSpyMaxx Antispyware.exe," "ProgramFilesSpyMaxx AntispywareSpyMaxx Antispyware.lic," "ProgramFilesSpyMaxx AntispywareSpyMaxx Antispyware0.dll" and "ProgramFilesSpyMaxx AntispywareUninstall.exe."
- 5). Type in the word "regedit" in the search box and wait for the program to pop up in the search results. Double-click the program to open it. Click on the "Continue" button when a new window appears asking if you are sure you want to open the program.
- 6). Open the "Find" feature by clicking on the "Ctrl" and "F" buttons on the keyboard at the same time. Type in the phrase "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstallSpyMaxx Antispyware" and press the "Enter" key. Wait for the registry file to appear in the search results and then right-click on it. Click on the "Delete" option from the pop-up menu.
- 7). Repeat the find and delete process with the rest of the SpyMaxx registry files that are named "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARESpyMaxx Antispyware.com," "PopupBlocker.IEGPB.1," "AppIDpblock.DLL," "AppIDEA7522F6-87CF-411e-8A55-19EE4344B676," "AVPGIntegrator.IEIntegrator.1" and "AppID7F7775D5-1EC8-4c0d-9BD7-6F3380959861."
