Top 5 Things to Look For in a Day Spa

9
Item #1: Where is the spa located? How much gas will you be spending on visiting this spa? After all, spas are expensive enough, so why spend another $20 just driving there! You may want to consider location, but certainly this is NOT the only consideration, and in fact it MAY be worth a few extra miles if you have received a recommendation for a good massage therapist.
Item #2: What services do they offer? If this is for you, you already know what services you are looking for.
If it is for a friend or loved one as a gift, find out what type of spa services they have used in the past to see if the spa you are investigating offers these services.
Many common services offered by spas include of course massage therapy, facials, pedicures, manicures, salt glows, mud wraps, and others.
Item #3: Are there any ratings available? Some of the best day spas may have received awards or votes from area newspapers or magazines.
Do some Google searches in your local area for a Day Spa and see what comes up.
Make sure that there aren't many bad reports online.
This is not too common for day spas, so be warned if you do find such reports.
Of course, you might have to take these with a grain of salt, but be smart and use common sense.
Item #4: What is the cost? Prices can range widely in the cost of day spa services.
If this is a gift, then find out what is important to the person getting the gift.
Someone may just want a manicure/pedicure and really not like massages! Yes, it is possible.
Someone may love the massages but not want any manicure/pedicure services.
So, find out before spending $100-$200 on a full day spa package.
You may be able to give a great gift for $50-$100 or even less depending on what your loved one really wants.
Item #5: Finally, how are you treated when you call for information? Are you treated with respect and taken care of? The person at a desk at a spa can be a reflection of the management and general satisfaction of customers.
Of course, not always, but it IS the job of the desk person to ensure they are at minimum able to be polite, answer your questions, or find an answer to your question if they do not know.
They should be able to provide prices and available appointment times without a hassle.
Just be nice to them too! Well, best of luck in your day spa search!
