How to Remove Stuck CDs From a 2004 Ford Windstar
- 1). Insert the straw on a canister of compressed air into the opening of the CD player and spray air inside to dislodge any dust and debris.
- 2). Hit the eject button to eject the CDs. If the discs do not eject, proceed to the next step.
- 3). Remove the CD player from the dashboard using the radio removal tools. You need to insert the tools into the holes on the sides of the radio faceplate, pull the tools outward towards the Windstar's doors then back towards you to disengage the radio mounting tabs.
- 4). Disconnect the antenna and wiring harness from the back of the radio by hand. Set the radio on a level surface and take the metal case off the radio with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- 5). Wrap a tissue around the tips of the needle-nose pliers so the jaws cannot scratch the discs and pull the CDs out through the back of the player with the pliers. This requires a steady, delicate hand, or the discs, radio or both will incur damage.
