How to Print a Poster Size Photo in Microsoft Office Word
- 1). Load the photo you want to use onto your computer. If it is on your digital camera, connect it to the computer and transfer it. If it is on digital media, such as a Photo CD or an SD card, insert it into the appropriate drive and copy it to your hard drive. Scanning is not recommended since it will result in a lower quality print.
- 2). Open Microsoft Word. Select "File" and click "New." Make the page size 11 x 17 inches, since this is the longest size you can create and print on a standard home printer.
- 3). Go to the menu and select "Insert," then "Picture," and click "From File." In the dialog that opens, browse to the file you loaded and open it.
- 4). Click on the inserted picture and grab one of the corners. Resize it to fill the document. Don't change the proportions even if cropping occurs.
- 5). Adjust the printer tray to accept 11 x 17 paper. Then insert 11 x 17 glossy poster paper into the printer.
- 6). Select "File" and click "Print." When the printer dialog opens, click on "Printer Properties" and change the quality to High. Make the "Type" Photo or Glossy (if your printer gives you this option). Click "OK." Then click "OK" again and your poster will print.
- 7). Use a cutting board to trim the white edges.
