Front Sight Looks To U.s. Supreme Court For Proper Decision In Second Amendment Rights Case

4
Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is the nation's largest gun training school. Every year, Front Sight trains more students in firearms training than all other major shooting school in the nation combined. The founder and director of Front Sight, Ignatius Piazza, has kept Front Sight on a straight and narrow path of demanding gun rights, enforcing responsible gun training and demanding responsible action from all its students. Throughout the years, Front Sight has stood like a bastion of common sense in the maelstrom which has been gun rights advocacy and legislation. Recently, media from the left and right and pundits from all over have been coming out of the woodwork about a subject Front Sight and Ignatius Piazza have been calm, civil and loud about for ages.

The U.S. Supreme Court will be deciding shortly on whether or not the District of Columbia has the constitutional right to ban citizens from possessing firearms in their own homes. The District of Columbia has had a suppressive, backwards ban on firearms ownership for years, and not till recently has something been done about it. In fact, it was one of Front Sight's own that started the snowball at the top of the mountain. George Lyon, a student of Front Sight, after receiving defensive handgun training and other firearms training, returned to his home of District of Columbia and decided to end the ridiculous, illegal firearms ban.

One of many citizens who have finally begun to bring about a change, this former student of Ignatius Piazza is also an attorney, and so used his law training to demand attention in the courts of to say how the District of Columbia's ban is unconstitutional. He, along with others, made such a stir and commotion that the U.S. Supreme Court accepted the case of District of Columbia v. Heller, a case concerning a D.C. citizen who attempted to purchase a handgun and sued for his right to do so. The U.S. Supreme Court accepting this case is monumental. Some Court scholars are calling it the most important Second Amendment case in America's history. The mayor of the District of Columbia is calling it the most important case the District has ever been involved in.

For these reasons and more, one can understand why not only are Front Sight and Ignatius Piazza getting excited, but also being heralded as commonsense, right-thinking Americans. Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight have never erred from their belief that firearms must be present in every American home, that gun legislation must be all but done away with, and now that more and more liberals and conservatives alike are realizing the truth of this stance, more and more are realizing that Front Sight and Ignatius Piazza, who in the past seemed annoying gun enthusiasts, are actually visionaries ahead of their time.

Perhaps the world wasn't ready for Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight, perhaps they were too extreme for an America too comfortable with the world. But now that the U.S. Supreme Court has accepted this case, America is going to have to wake up to the very real possibility that its Second Amendment rights are in danger, and the U.S. Supreme Court must understand that America is watching, and expecting a proper result.
