How to Maintain Oster Clippers
- 1). Remove plastic guard from blade. Clean hair and residue from hair guide comb. Use a gentle brush (such as an unused toothbrush) to remove buildup from both the blade teeth and cutter teeth by brushing downward and away from the clipper.
- 2). Use Oster Spray Disinfectant, an effective antibacterial agent that deodorizes and helps prevent against mold and mildew on the hair guide.
- 3). Pour Oster Blade Wash into a clean bowl. Turn clipper on and submerge only the blade into the wash. Run the motor of the clipper for up to three minutes; according to Oster, the wash will easily flush away hair and buildup trapped between upper and lower cutting blades.
- 4). Turn off clipper, and wipe down blade with a dry towel. After the blade is clean, apply the lubricating oil (such as Oster's Premium Oil) directly onto the blade. Always use oil after cleansing blade with the Blade Wash to ensure blade's performance.
- 5). Slide blade to the left and right to lubricate all angles of the blade. Wipe excess oil from blade with a clean towel.
- 6). Apply Oster Gear Lube to clipper head gear mechanism every six months to keep the universal motor running smoothly.
