Outside Water Faucets Repair

- 2). Turn the faucet's handle to its extreme "ON" position to access the base of the faucet valve.
- 3). Rotate the knurled base of the faucet valve counterclockwise with an adjustable wrench until the valve assembly detaches from the faucet housing.
- 4). Remove the faucet handle from the faucet stem by removing either the single screw or nut from the center of the handle, depending on the design, with a screwdriver or wrench to access the packing nut.
- 5). Rotate the packing nut with an adjustable wrench until it detaches from the valve, then lift the nut off the faucet stem.
- 6). Pull the rubber washer out of the backside of the packing nut.
- 7). Insert a replacement washer into the packing nut, then slide the packing nut onto the stem.
- 8). Rotate the packing nut clockwise with an adjustable wrench until the packaging nut is secure.
- 9). Position the faucet handle onto the tip of the faucet stem and install the handle's fastener with either a screwdriver or adjustable wrench, depending on the design.
