How to Install a Car Stereo in a Honda
- 1). Lift the hood of the Honda by pulling the hood release lever on the left side of the steering column, below the dashboard.
- 2). Loosen the negative battery cable clamp with the 10 mm wrench. The negative battery cable connects the negative terminal with the chassis of the vehicle. Move the cable away from the battery until the installation is complete.
- 3). Pull the ashtray from its slot and the ashtray bracket. Remove the single screw in the back of the vacant slot with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
- 4). Grab the main center dash panel below the ashtray and cigarette lighter and pull it away from the dashboard. The panel will snap away from the dashboard and be connected to the dash by the power supply to the cigarette lighter. Pull the wiring from the back of the panel and set it on the seat until the installation process begins.
- 5). Remove the two screws on either side of the now exposed stereo mounting bracket with the screwdriver.
- 6). Pull the factory stereo from the stereo mounting dock and pull the stereo wiring from the back of the radio. Unplug the black antenna cable from the antenna outlet on the rear panel of the radio.
- 7). Slide the faceplate adapter into the vacant stereo mounting dock. Screw in the four screws (two on each side) to secure the adapter to the stereo mounting bracket of the Honda.
- 8). Connect the wiring harness adapter to the stereo wiring from the Honda's mounting dock.
- 9). Plug the wiring harness adapter leads into the back panel of the new stereo. Connect the antenna cable to the antenna outlet of the rear panel of the aftermarket stereo.

Slide the new stereo into the faceplate adapter, securing the radio inside the dashboard of the Honda. - 11
Connect the power supply wiring for the cigarette lighter from the dashboard to the back of the center dash panel. - 12
Align the dash panel around the ashtray compartment and stereo. Press against the panel at the bottom edge and move your hands around the perimeter to snap the panel in place on the dashboard. - 13
Replace the screw in the back of the empty ashtray compartment. Slide the ashtray bracket and ashtray into the slot. - 14
Return to the engine compartment and place the negative battery cable clamp around the negative battery terminal lead post. Tighten the clamp to the post with the wrench and close the hood.
