How to Install & Save As a PDF
- 1). Download Adobe Acrobat Professional by visiting adobe.com. You must purchase the software prior to downloading. If you prefer a free option, download free desktop PDF software such as OmniFormat v8.3. You can download these off the software maker's website.
- 2). Install the PDF or Adobe software onto your computer by following the download prompts. Choose your desktop as the location for the program so it will be easy to locate in the future. When the installation is complete, activate your product by using the provided serial and activation numbers. Register the Acrobat Professional product by phone, mail or online. If selecting a free desktop software, skip this step.
- 3). Test a document in your files for conversion. Use a file type that you will most likely download from the Internet. Open the file and click "File," then "Save As."
Type the name of your file and set its location, then change the file type to PDF. If you are using Acrobat Professional, you can open the program by clicking "Create PDF" from the main menu, then clicking "Create PDF from File" from the sub menu. Once your file is converted you will be prompted to save the new file as a PDF.
