Many people make the mistake of thinking it's cute when smaller dogs growl, snarl or snap since they can't do any real damage.
This can be what encourages your Yorkie puppy to continue these behaviors as he grows older.
Most dogs show signs of aggression in order to prove themselves as alpha in the pack.
In this case, you must show your puppy that you are pack leader and deserve his respect.
All members of your family must exhibit alpha behaviors as well to be sure your puppy is not aggressive to just one person.

Showing aggression over good can also be a common aggressive behavior.
If your Yorkshire Terrier puppy is showing signs of aggression over food, you must remove him from the room when you are preparing his food.
When you are ready for him to eat, call him to his eating area and make him sit silent for at 5 seconds before you set down his bowl.
This will show that you are in control of the food supply, another sign of being pack leader.

Whatever you do, do not let your Yorkie puppy get away with aggressive behaviors.
Laughing, smiling or ignoring aggressive signs will only reinforce the behavior.
If your puppy shows signs of aggression, immediately tell him "no" loudly and in a harsh tone so that he knows that behavior will not be accepted.
