Which Airlines Fly to Cancun, Mexico?

Cancun is located on the Caribbean sea on the tip of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula. The city has average temperatures ranging from the mid-70s (degrees Fahrenheit) in winter to the mid-80s in summer, and is within a few hours drive to the grounds of many Mayan ruins. Many American, Canadian, Mexican and European airlines fly to Cancun. - The majority of major American airlines fly to Cancun. Such airlines inlcude: AirTran, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Spirit, United and US Air. Several Canadian airlines also have routes to Cancun, such as Air Canada, Air Transat and WestJet. Many major American cities have direct flights to Cancun, including Miami, Dallas, Chicago and New York. Direct flights are also available from Toronto and Montreal in Canada.
- Few Latin American airlines travel to Cancun. Many of Mexico's airlines have folded in recent years, but a handful are still in operation with service to Cancun. AeroMexico, Volaris, Interjet and Viva Aerobus fly to Cancun from other Mexican cities. Volaris also offers flights to Cancun from Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Jose, California.
- Many of Europe's major airlines have routes traveling to Cancun. Among them are: Spain's Air Europa, Iberia and Iberworld; Germany's Air Berlin and Condor Air fly; Austrian Airlines; and Switzerland's Edelweiss Air. KLM and Martinair, based in the Netherlands, and the British-based Monarch Air and Thomas Cook also offer flights to Cancun. Direct flights are available from Amsterdam and Madrid. Flights from London typically require one layover.
