The book was crafted in 1984 by Late Shri Harilal Upadhyay. As like all other social novels by him, this one also focuses the importance of morals and ethics. Actually, as per tradition in Gujarat when a bride comes to her home for the first time, a vassel is kept ready containing water mixed with Kanku (its a red color powder, considered pious, used as sign of great religous stuff, whenever people does any good thing, they used to have a Tilak from the same), and the feet of brides have been made wet with the same. And she walks into the home for the first time with this wet feet. This leaves the red footprints of the bride in her own home. It is considered as very blissful stuff and this is what it is called - Pagla Padya KankuVarna - in Gujarati.

The frontline charaters of this novel like Arjun, Meghnad, Kumarsen, Shobhna, Shital and Jita possess the hope hopes and desires to live with the values accepted by modern times which provides more opportunities to utilise the intelligence and talents.

This is the only way to remove the generation gap. As the name of the book suggests, the book reaches its happy ending  with the blissful welcome ceremony of the bride in her own home.
