Information on How to Install an Auto Alarm

    • 1). Read the installation manual of the alarm you purchased, noting tips and instructions for efficient installation. Make sure you understand where to install the alarm in the car, and what steps to take to effectively do so.

    • 2). Determine where you plan to place the alarm components. Following the instructions in the alarm manual as to where to put it, mount the alarm siren to a solid metal surface under the hood by soldering it down. Make sure to point the horn of the siren downwards, to avoid moisture collecting inside of it.

    • 3). Drill a hole through a rubber grommet in the firewall of the vehicle, slowly feeding the alarm siren's wire into the passenger side of the car through the hole. Carefully connect the alarm's power wire directly to the vehicle battery, also feeding the wire through the grommet into the passenger side of the vehicle.

    • 4). Place the fuse on the power wire next to the battery and mount the shock sensor in the manner show in the installation manual.

    • 5). Drill a hole in the dashboard, in the top left corner or center and feed the wire of the LED light through the dashboard hole. Place a couple of pieces of double sided mounting tape to the back of the LED and fasten it securely with the tape down over the hole so that the light sits flush on top of the dashboard.

    • 6). Locate the wires that bring power to the vehicle's door locks. Connect the vehicle door-lock relay to the wires that lock and unlock the vehicle and then connect the alarm siren wire to the relay as described in the manual.

    • 7). If the alarm has a current sensing feature, locate the wire that works the alarm courtesy light. Connect the current sensing line from te alarm to the courtesy light wire, using the instructions from the installation manual.

    • 8). If the alamr does not have current sensing features, locate the factory door triggers and connect the factory door trigger to the alarm using the instructions in the installation manual.

    • 9). Find the starter wire on the steering column. It should be located a few below the starter switch. Cut the line and connect the starter disable relay with the starter disable wire from the alarm.

      Mount the valet switch under the dash and connect all the wires of the switch to the proper inputs and outputs of the alarm module. Refer to installation manual for instructions on how to do so.

      Screw the alarm module to a sturdy surface under the dash. Use a few tie wraps to secure the wires of the harness and make sure all of it is contained under the dash. Replace dashboard cover.

      Test the alarm to make sure it is in working order.
