How to Cut a Hoya Plant
- 1). Start at the end of a branch or vine and count back about 3 or 4 inches if you are going to root the cutting. If you are just going to reduce the size of your plant, go back as far as you want.
- 2). Look for a pair of leaves. Make the cut directly under the pair of leaves with a sharp pair of pruning shears.
- 3). Do not cut off spent flower stalks or stems. Although unattractive, they are necessary because new flowers bloom from those stems. Let them hang. Do not pluck off any spent flowers, either. Let them drop naturally from the plant.
