How to Make Flash Animation With Macromedia Flash

4
    • 1). Fire up your Macromedia Flash application. This opens up a white main window called the Stage, with a timeline at the top. We will use the Stage to create our animations and use the timeline to position the animations we have created onto their appropriate locations.

    • 2). Draw your objects onto the Stage using the drawing tools located on the left of the Stage. Alternatively, you may decide to import graphics and other objects onto the Stage by going to "File," "Import" and "Import to Stage." Locate the graphics and they should be automatically positioned onto your Stage if they are compatible with the Macromedia Flash application.

    • 3). Animate the objects by first selecting the objects to be animated and pressing F8 and selecting the "Movie Clip" type object. Click "OK" to convert the object to a movie clip and to save a copy onto the library. This object can now be used as an animation.

    • 4). Add a Keyframe onto the Timeline by clicking on Frame 40 and pressing F6. A black circle appears on Frame 40 confirming that it is now a Keyframe that can be used to position a movie clip object.

    • 5). Drag the movie clip we created onto another position on the stage while the Frame 40 is still selected.

    • 6). Click on any frame between Frame 1 and Frame 40, right-click and select "Create Motion Tween."

    • 7). Click on Frame 20 and press F6 to add a new Keyframe. While on this Keyframe, move the movie clip to another position on the stage. From here onward, add as many Keyframes as you wish. Ensure that the animations will run smoothly on Stage by positioning them appropriately to avoid jittery movement.

    • 8). Add a new layer on the timeline by right-clicking on the "Layer 1" and selecting "Insert Layer." For each layer added, add a new object on Stage and animate following the same procedure above.

    • 9). Press "Ctrl" and "Enter" to test the movie.
