Property for sale in Cyprus is becoming more and more attractive for a number of reasons. If you have ever considered buying a property abroad, either as an investment, or as a holiday home, then this beautiful island may be a possibility. It has great weather, historic monuments, affordable properties and is easy to get to from the UK. The house market is reasonably stable and gives great returns on investments. Alternatively, if you want to live somewhere that is truly special and very different from the UK, then Cyprus could be for you. If you need further convincing, then here are five reasons why Cyprus is great place to live.

In comparison to the UK, Cyprus is hot. During January and February, the island's coldest months, the temperature still reaches a reasonable 17 degrees - over three times hotter than the UK average of around 5 degrees in the same months. In the summer months of July and August the temperature can reach as high as a 32 or 33 degrees on average, compared to the UK's much cooler 14 or 15 degrees. This means that it is hotter in the Cypriot winter than it is over here in the summer.

Cyprus is also extremely easy to get to and flights are reasonably priced. Now with many budget airlines flying to the area, plane tickets have become even cheaper. For example EasyJet offers flights from Gatwick Airport to Paphos in Cyprus for as little as 38.99. A flight from Paphos back to Gatwick is also reasonably priced at 38.99 Euros. However, this does depend on the time of year that you are flying and whether you are flying in the middle of the week or at weekends.

Property for sale in Cyprus is also very reasonably priced. Property can cost from as little as 315,000 Euros, which works out at around 250,000, for a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroomed detached villa. At the higher end of the market you can buy a 5 bedroom detached villa, with a huge garden and a pool, for around E2500000, just under 2000000.

The people of Cyprus are friendly, accommodating and used to foreigners moving to their lovely island. The Cypriots fall into two major groups: the Greek Cypriots in the South and the Turkish Cypriots in the North. Four fifths of the islands inhabitants are Greek and Greek is the main language spoken. Cyprus has a very good education system and the majority of locals also speak English as a second language. Greek Cypriots are also famous for their hospitality, and welcome visitors and new residents alike with open arms.

Cyprus has a rich culture with unique expressions in Art, Music, and Literature. Local cuisine is delicious and seafood is one of the primary ingredients in cooking on the island; squid, octopus and sea bass are some of the favourites. Cyprus is also famous for it Halloumi cheese which is made from a mixture of goat's and sheep's milk.

Hopefully these five reasons will give enough of a taste to have a look at some of the great property for sale in Cyprus. Alternatively they might inspire you to have a holiday there and who knows where that may lead?
