Germany is a country in the North-West of Europe with more then 82 million inhabitants and has a very big history. It's a beautiful country with many beautiful cities and in this article I will tell you about some of these famous cities. I will tell you a little bit about the history of the cities and something about what you can see or visit when you are there.
Stuttgart
Stuttgart has 591114 inhabitants and is one of the biggest cities of Germany. De city is famous for its industrial history. And famous brands like Mercedes en Porsche are from here and also the base of Bosch is in Stuttgart. Next to that Stuttgart is also famous for its sports and its cultural centre . Stuttgart got his city rights in the late 13th century. In the second world war the city was damaged a lot because of air attacks from the allied forces.
Dusseldorf
Dusseldorf is the capital of North Rijnland-Westfalen and is located south of the Ruhrarea. The city has 577.50 inhabitants and is founded in 1135. In 1288 Dusseldorf got his city rights from count Adolf V. von Berg. Dusseldorf is also famous for its music hall called the Tonhalle Dusseldorf with more then 200 shows every year. In this place you can listen to literally every kind of music and it's a real must see when you visit Dusseldorf. This city also has some beautiful castles like:
- Burg Angermund build in the 14th century
- Schloss Eller build in the 14th century
- Schloss Kalkum build in the 18th century

Leipzig
Leizpig is the biggest city in east Germany and was founded in 1165. In 1409 it became the centre of book-printing-art and Napoleon was beaten there by Austria and Russia. The national library of Germany is also located in Leipzig. There are a lot of nice things you can visit here like:

- The Thomaschurch
- The Egyptian museum
- The Bach-museum
- The old stock exchange
- The zoo and much more.

This city was founded in 158 by duke Hendrik de leeuw. Munich has a very old centre with a lot of museums like the Alte Pinakothek, the Neue Pinakothek and the Pinakothek der Moderne. There are also some very big pars with a lot of cultural inheritance. Hitler held several speeches here after the first world war. There are several things you can see here like the Frauenkirche, Aamskircke and the Theaterkirche, also there is a palace a beautiful city hall and the centre is great for shopping.

Hamburg has 1,7 million inhabitants and the city was founded in the late 9th century and named Hamma Burg by the Vikings. In the medieval Hamburg was one of the most important traderoutes from the North to the Southsea. Also there is a great harbour and several great things to see like the city statue en the picturesque centre.
