Tall Rose Wedding Centerpieces
- Give each table at your reception some height with a tall vase and rose centerpiece. Pick a vase that will fit the theme of your wedding. Glass or crystal vases will match almost any occasion, and you can add colored rocks or stones to the bottom of the vase to incorporate other hues. Just make sure the vase is thin enough that it won't block the view of guest sitting across the table from each other. Decide what color roses you want to feature and request them as long stemmed. You can also mix in other flowers and filigree, such as hydrangeas or willow branches.
- Instead of featuring your roses blooming outside the vase, try submerging the flowers in water for an interesting tall centerpiece. Find a long vase, either circular or squared, that is wide enough to fit roses inside of it. Cut the roses at varying lengths and tie them together at the bottom of the bouquet with a rubber band. Tying a small fishing weight in with the rubber band to keep the flowers anchored when you place them in the vase and fill it up with water.
- Incorporate some candles to your tall rose centerpiece with a candelabra. These tall candle holders often come with a small holder for a bouquet of flower in the middle of its outstretched arms that hold candles. Pick which color rose you want to feature in this centerpiece and arrange them in the designated area. Just make sure the flowers and leaves aren't near any of the candles' flames.
- A topiary is made out of plants or flowers that are sculpted into a defined shape. A common topiary style feature a stem with a large circular bush or flower bouquet on top, like a small tree. A florist should be able to make a rose topiary that can stand as a tall centerpiece at your wedding. There are also designs made from silk flowers can be purchased online in a variety of colors. My Party Planner offers rose topiaries in red, pink and white.
