Fresh fruits and vegetables have many health benefits.
They provide our bodies with vitamins and minerals that we need for energy each day.
Fruits and vegetables also help our digestive system by giving us some needed hydration and roughage.
They can help improve our mood and help us fight off disease.
Fruits and vegetables have many benefits that all to often are underestimated by people today.
That is why the US Government recommends that we have a minimum of 3 servings of fruits and vegetables per day.
You see, people don't eat enough of them now days, or at least most people don't.
Today we are in such a rush that we would rather pull through some drive through and get a fast food meal than to sit down for a home cooked one with fresh vegetables.
And it is not only adults that are suffering.
Children are suffering from the ill effects of not getting enough fresh good vegetables as well.
Never before in our history have children been so overweight.
Each year more and more children are diagnosed with some form of diabetes.
So, get in the habit of eating fruit and vegetables on a regular basis.
Your body may just thank your for it in the long run.
Also get your children to eat more servings per day of fruits and vegetables.
Make them stay away from junk foods like candy, cola and potato chips.
Teach them proper nutrition when they are young and they will be more likely to eat the right kinds of foods for the rest of their lives.
