For years now, we have heard the information from medical experts from all over the world that passive smoking is as bad as lighting up yourself.
If you remember the great entertainer Roy Castle, who died from cancer caused by passive smoking (he played trumpet in clubs all over the country where people openly smoked all the time).
This example alone should be a good reason to stop smoking.
For instance, if you are a parent, did you know a lot of the chemicals which cause health problems, especially in children, remain on your breath for a long time after you have had your last cigarette? So, even if you step outside to have your daily fix, you are still causing harm to your children long after you have come back inside to be with your family.
There is a huge amount of medical evidence to give reason to stop smoking, passive smoking kills people just as smoking directly does.
So you need to stop, stop soon and stop for good.

Passive smoking for Children can increase the risk of developing asthma.
When someone has smoked inside a room, the smoke can stay there for up to 2 1/2 hours, even if a window is open in the room.
Second hand smoke contains up to 4000 chemicals, many of which are toxins and irritants, some of which are known to cause cancer.
Frequent exposure to other peoples smoke can cause lung cancer, throat cancer, asthma, coronary heart disease which could lead to angina and possible heart attacks.

Other child health problems include bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma as we have already mentioned.
Serious respiratory infections which could lead to hospital admittance is also a strong possibility.
Children who live in a passive smoking environment can also have increased risk to cough's and colds and middle ear disease which could lead to hearing loss.
Lastly, if a child grows up in a household where one or both parents smoke they can have a higher chance of smoking themselves when they get older.
Parents have a hard time trying to tell youngsters not to smoke when they are puffing away on cigarettes all day long.
So, for the children of the world to grow up in a healthy environment, free from smoke of any kind should be the goal.
