Micro Stock Photography

23
We have many start-up companies and small companies who cannot afford a proper photograph shoot with hiring the best photographers, choose the best location and hire models, take their travelling and other expenses. What these companies do is go for Micro Stock Photography.

Micro Stock Photographs are those photos which are prices at a lower range and are Royalty Free Licensed. As mentioned in my previous article, Royalty Free License is when a photo can be sold multiple times and can be used for multiple purposes.

We also have many amateur photographers who initially submit their photos to Micro Stock Photography Sites and earn a living by selling those photos multiple numbers of times. Even though these photos are sold at a lower price, these amateur photographers go for Micro Stock Photography so that they can enter the photography market and understand the market with a larger view.

It is also considered as the entry gate for new and amateur photographers who wish to enter the market of Photography.

Also, Micro Stock Photography has become very popular due to its Royalty Free License and low prices. Most of the designers and Publishers wish to go for Micro Stock Photography.

With the introduction of the Royalty - Free License, the increased availability of Micro Stock Photography through websites at low prices, designers and publishers are less tempted to grab images from the web. They can now download them for a very reasonable price.

All the sites that sell photos online have strict rules regarding image quality, image size, and the subject being covered. These sites allow only those photographers who make a decent amount of pictures and they mostly required exclusivity. Some sites have rules and regulations where they say that photographers cannot sign up with any other Site that sells photos till they are a member of that site. This definitely reduces the chances of having photos sold, but still the photo will be sold and you will earn some amount. After all, Something is better than Nothing!!!

There are various Micro Stock Photography Sites who are very flexible. They don't require any exclusivity and don't even have a limit on the number of photos you can submit. These sites are really very useful for the ones who are new in the market. These sites don't stop you from registering to various other sites and submitting your photos there as well.

Keywording and Retouching are two very important factors that a photographer needs to keep in mind before submitting their photos. When a photographer moves from Micro Stock Photography to Stock Photography, they need to take care of their photos whether they are properly retouched and key worded or no. Any photo that is raw and not key worded will be immediately rejected by the judges of the site.

So always keep in mind that you have all your photos retouched and key worded to avoid rejection and have the photos submitted at one go.
