Holidays for Sporting Husbands
I know many husbands who would take great delight in going on a sports tour and many wives that find the idea utterly unpalatable. A sports tour can be accomplished, to the satisfaction of both parties, with a little careful planning. In sports tours, it is all about timing and location. There is nothing to stop hubby and the boys going to the rugby game, for example, whilst mom and the girls go exploring. Ideally speaking, a holiday is spent together but do you really want to be with your husband and children in a strange country for twenty four hours a day for three solid weeks?
One of the 6 Nations packages allows for a good compromise to be made. Watching Europe's premier rugby event will make for a delighted husband and, if planned correctly, the location of the event will make for a delighted wife.
Every year the six best rugby teams in Europe compete for the title of European Champion. The teams are France, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Italy. Each team plays one match against the other and the overall points at the end determine the winner. The teams alternate between home and away games in successive years. When choosing which of the 6 Nations packages you will take, be sure to check which games are being played, and where they are being played, before making a decision.
If, for example, your wife wants to go to Paris on holiday, you need only choose one of the 6 Nations packages that include a French home game. The Stade de France is just north of Paris. You could stay in Paris, and attend the games you wanted to and your wife would have her wish of visiting Paris. By that same logic, you could book a London package holiday to coincide with one of the 6 Nations packages and would be able to take in the sights and sounds of London and also a few of the games. It would be just as easy to arrange for the 6 Nations packages to include a trip to both London and France.
You could basically tailor them in such a way that it does not even seem like a sports supporter's holiday and so have the best of both worlds. So, as you can see, all it takes is a bit of advanced planning to make both husband and wife happy.
