Three-Barrel Curling Iron Instructions
- Because three-barrel curling irons utilize high heat, it's important to prepare your hair with a moisturizing product before styling it with this tool. Make sure your strands are completely dry and combed smooth. Apply a thermal-protectant spray or serum to the ends of the hair (avoid the scalp, as that will make the style look greasy). This hair product will keep the hair from drying out and will help the style hold its shape.
- Heat the iron and divide the hair into half-inch-wide sections. Smooth the first section over your fingers. Clamp the heated three-barrel curling iron at the base of the hair, starting about an inch from the scalp. Allow the closed iron to rest on the strands for five seconds, then unclamp it. Slide it down the strands so the top barrel is resting in the lowest wave from the previous clamp and close the iron again. Lining up the iron in this manner ensures the style appears continuous and natural. Move the triple-barrel iron down the section of hair until it is completely styled, then proceed to the next. Repeat the process with all the sections until the hair is completely waved.
- After you've finished styling your tresses with a three-barrel curling iron, apply hairspray to the waves to keep them from relaxing. The hair should remain textured until it's washed.
