How to Crochet a Knitted Sweater Together

10
    • 1). Join yarn of the same main color as your sweater to your crochet hook with a slip knot.

    • 2). Line up the front and back pieces of your sweater together, with the right sides facing. Start by crocheting each of the two shoulder seams together. Treat this project as if you are crocheting rows of single crochet stitches.

    • 3). Push your crochet hook through the two layers at one end of one shoulder seam, 1/4-inch from the edge of the pieces. Pick up the yarn with the hook and pull it back through the pieces, so you have two loops on your hook. Bring the yarn over the hook, from back to front, and draw it through both loops on the hook. You now have one loop on the hook and a completed single crochet stitch. Continue along the shoulder seam, working a crochet hook every 1/2-inch. At the end of the shoulder seam, cut the yarn and pull it through the loop on the hook to secure your crocheted seam.

    • 4). Crocheted the other shoulder seam together in the same manner.

    • 5). Pin the sleeves in place, ensuring the center of the sleeve is in line with the shoulder seam. Crochet the sleeves in place. Once they are in place, crochet each of the the arm seams together to complete the sleeves.

    • 6). Crochet each of the side seams together. This finishes the project, at which time you can turn it right sides out and press it, if necessary.
