How to Contact Your State's Senators
- 1). Write to your senators via email. The U.S. Senate website (senate.gov) offers a list of every current senator's email contact information. Each senator has a contact form that will require you to provide your name, mailing address, phone number and email address. You can compose your message in the provided text box and click "Submit" when you're finished.
- 2). Mail paper correspondence to your senators. Write what you would like to say in a letter and place the letter into an envelope. Write your return address on the upper left corner of the front of the envelope, and write the senator's address in the center. The senator's address should be written as follows:
The Honorable (Senator's Name)
United States Senate
Washington, D.C. 20510
Replace (Senator's Name) with the senator's actual name. Affix a stamp to the upper right corner of the envelope and mail the letter. - 3). Contact your senators by phone. This can be done by calling the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 244-3121. Tell the switchboard operator which senator you'd like to speak with and the operator will connect you to that legislator's office.
