How to Make Your Own Halloween Zombies Skeletons

9
    • 1). Cover your work area with drop cloths or newspaper to protect it. Work outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.

    • 2). Purchase a plastic skeleton, or partial skeleton if you prefer. Detach the arms and head if necessary and if possible.

    • 3). Spray adhesive on the skeleton torso. Cut the leg off a queen sized pair of pantyhose and pull it over the torso and pelvis. Make holes if necessary and attach the head, arms and legs.

    • 4). Hot glue plastic eyeballs, if desired, in the eye sockets.

    • 5). Cut five more pieces of pantyhose legs. Spray the legs, arms and skull with adhesive and cover them with the hose.

    • 6). Hang the skeleton, or lay it on a plastic drop cloth. Poke and rake the pantyhose to create runs, holes and splits. Create slits by the eyes so they look open. Arrange them as desired to create the look of hanging skin and ligaments.

    • 7). Brush on thin layers of a flat, flesh-tone latex paint to cover the stocking areas, or any areas you wish to simulate flesh. Allow the zombie skeleton to dry a few hours between coats. Build up several layers, but don't cover too much up with the latex; leave some areas showing bone.

    • 8). Let the zombie dry overnight. Brush on a gel wood stain in a darker skin color for a more realistic coloring. Add some dark green gel or stain or glaze if desired in select areas where skin is hanging to make it look like rotting flesh.

    • 9). Spray your zombie skeleton with a clear acrylic sealer to protect its rotting flesh. Let the first coat dry and give it a second coat.

Spray adhesive to the top of the head. Cut clumps of hair from a wig and press it to the top of the head to look like hair that has been falling out.

Dress your skeletal corpse in old clothes. Tear them and shred some areas so parts of the zombie's arms, legs and rib cage are exposed. Hang your skeleton or prop him up where desired.
