With the thousands of HIV/AIDS websites on the Internet, how does anyone pick a good site? Look for these qualities in any HIV/AIDS website:

• Make sure the sites you use are current:
  Content older than 1-2 years should be used with caution and is probably outdated.
• Use only reputable sites:
  Stay with websites that are from reputable sources such as government sponsored sites like the CDC, hospital and University based sites like The University of Michigan and sites sponsored by reputable entities like AEGIS. And of course some commercial sites like About's HIV/AIDS site provide very relavent and accurate information. Information from these sites is current, backed by scientific data and is updated frequently.

• Beware of fraud:
  Before investing any money, resources, or time in such products, check with your doctor to assess the validity of such claims. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
• Most important...the Internet can't replace your doctor:
  Information gottent from any website should not replace your physician. Consult with your doctor before acting on any information found on the Internet
