How to Get Rid of Gypsy Moth Nests
- 1). Fill a bucket with hot water. Add enough liquid dishwashing soap to create suds. Agitate the water with your hands so the soap is incorporated into the water.
- 2). Scrape the nests off the tree trunk with a knife. Dump the nests into the soapy water. Pick up any nest material that you drop on the ground because the eggs can survive overwinter in the snow.
- 3). Leave the nests to soak for 24 hours. Discard the soapy water in the trash.
