Why Help From a Friend May Be Declined

34
There are times when we go out of our way to offer help and support to others, only for this to be declined for no reason at all or for reasons that make little sense.
It is difficult to understand why this happens given the obvious circumstance of despair that we can see this people in.
The fact is despite our poor understanding of why this could happen these reasons make perfect sense to those who decline our help.
Below is an examination of these reasons and why they should make sense to us.
Personal growth Sometimes people need to overcome the storms in their lives themselves to grow into the people that they desire to become.
Although our help could come in handy, this would take away their personal achievements.
We must remember that despite our good intentions they also have a need for accomplishments that we cannot see or understand.
During these times we must allow them the space they need to grow.
Indebted Despite our efforts of clearing any doubts they might have of being indebted to us, it is a feeling that nags the recipient of the help or support.
Life is about a balance in all things.
If this balance is not maintained then it affects the spirit within us.
Constantly receiving from others at times can diminish our esteem.
If we are working towards improving this then there is a good enough reason to decline this help or support.
Complications Friendship is complicated.
What may look simple today could prove hazardous in the long run.
Unless we have built a strong relationship with others it is hard to take things for granted.
What we have today may make us strong before others but what we do not have tomorrow may bring us to our knees and demanding.
It is at these times that we require help and when it is not reciprocated as we delivered these could cause friction.
Offering without thought Unless people are truly desperate they are likely to refuse our help and support if we do not offer it from our hearts.
As much as others desire our help we should also note that being in this position of authority does not take away the attributes of humility that should come with this help.
If we offer help as if it meant nothing to us then we should not be surprised if this help is declined as though it was nothing.
