How to Find Alkaline Foods
- 1). Buy pH test strips at your local natural food store. First thing in the morning, test your pH to see if your body is acidic or alkaline. This is usually done by urinating on the strip; your urine is the most concentrated when you wake up.
- 2). Examine the list of alkaline foods in the resource section. Write down all of your favorite alkaline fruits and vegetables on the list and get ready to shop.
- 3). Go to the grocery store and buy the vegetables and fruits you've identified. Produce is usually found on the outer corner of the store, and you will often find dried fruits and vegetables on the grocery shelves.
- 4). Consider frozen vegetables, as these are also alkaline. Choose from a wide variety of vegetables such as broccoli and spinach.
- 5). Prepare your food and enjoy. Lightly steam vegetables to preserve their enzymes.
- 6). Avoid junk food and limit sweets to special occasions. The more alkaline your body, the healthier you will become.
