How to Trim for Gerbera Daisies
- 1). Check the plant for dead flowers, leaves or stems. If left alone, these can cause rot and fungus on a healthy plant. Eventually, they will fall off and litter the floor or ground around the daisy.
- 2). Remove any dead foliage using pruning shears or scissors. Cut off dead flowers and leaves at their base. Cut off old, faded stems where they connect to the roots or main stem.
- 3). When pruning, be careful not to cut off any live, healthy foliage, as this might damage your Gerbera Daisy plant.
- 4). Use water to mist the Gerbera Daisy. Do not use any other products, as the "fur" on Gerbera stems and leaves doesn't take well to being rubbed or handled.
