How to Create Your Own Flash Ringtones
- 1). Download free audio software based on your computer's operating system. There are several available, such as Audacity.
- 2). Once the software is downloaded and installed on your computer, open the menu and select "MP3."
- 3). Choose a song from your personal collection of MP3 music. Highlight the six to eight seconds of the song you would like for a ringtone.
- 4). After you select the section of music to be used as a ringtone, select the "Export" option on the menu. Save the exported file to a specific location, such as your desktop, or create a folder called "Ringtones" under an easy-to-remember name; for example: ringtone-band-song.mp3.
- 5). Once the file is saved, close the software.
- 6). Go to the saved file and right-click it to rename it. You will need to rename the file extension, changing the .mp3 to .mid. Your computer may warn you against renaming the file. Ignore the warning.
- 7). Place your phone's memory card in the memory-card reader attached to your computer. Save the .mid ringtone file to your phone's memory card.
- 8). Place the memory card back in the phone, and then copy the saved file into your sounds or ringtone folder.
- 9). Use your phone's settings menu to assign the ringtone.

For additional ringtones, repeat the process.
