How to Glue Rocks to the Bottom of a Fish Tank
- 1). Prepare the tank. Remove the fish, drain the water and thoroughly clean the tank.
- 2). Clean the rocks. Dunk them in a 10 percent bleach solution. Rub the surface of the rocks thoroughly with your hands. Then rinse them and place them on the table.
- 3). Dust the table with a thin layer of flour.
- 4). Place each rock on the flour in the position that you would like it to rest at the bottom of your tank.
- 5). Lift one rock and observe where there is a light dusting of flower. These are the points at which the rock will make contact with the bottom of the tank. Brush off the flour and then apply the silicone glue to those points.
- 6). Arrange the rocks in the tank.
- 7). Weigh the rocks down with enough bags of sand to fill the tank (keep the sand in the bag).
- 8). Allow the silicone glue to cure for the amount of time dictated by the manufacturer's instructions.
- 9). Re-fill the tank with water and replace the fish.
