    Generation and Production

    • The 2007 Shelby Mustang GT was based on Ford's fifth generation Mustang, which first went on sale as a 2005 model. The 2007 Shelby Mustang GT went on sale in early 2007 with fewer than 6,000 models ever produced.

The car was built at Shelby American's Las Vegas facility using a standard Ford Mustang GT built at Ford's plant in Flat Rock, Michigan.

    Engine

    • One of the defining features of the 2007 Shelby Mustang GT was its engine. The car used a 4.6 liter V8 engine that produced 325 horsepower and 330 ft. lbs. of torque. Shelby augmented the engine with a 90-mm cold air intake for improved performance.

The engine achieved fuel efficiency of around 16 miles per gallon in city conditions and 23 mpg on the highway, just slightly below the stock Mustang GT's efficiency rating.

    Wheels and Tires

    • The 2007 Shelby Mustang GT came with 18-inch allow wheels. Both front and rear wheels used the same tires, which were low-profile size P235/55ZR18. The car also used four-wheel disc brakes with an anti-lock braking system.

    Body Styles

    • Shelby offered the 2007 Shelby Mustang GT in only two colors: black and white, both with silver racing stripes. It was only produced as a coupe, and all models used the same front engine/rear-wheel drive configuration (with a longitudinally mounted engine) as the stock Mustang GT the car was built from.

    Pricing

    • For 2007 models of the Shelby Mustang GT, pricing started at $36,970. This price rose with the addition of accessories and features like a premium audio system and interior upgrades, with some models costing nearly $40,000. This price is about $10,000 more per car than the Mustang GTs used to build the Shelby variants.

    Dimensions

    • The 2007 Shelby Mustang GT was 187.6 inches long on a wheelbase of 107.1 inches. It was also 73.9 inches wide and 54.5 inches tall. It came with a 16-gallon fuel tank.
